  • President Donald Trump told African leaders attending a Wednesday luncheon associated with the United Nations General Assembly that their nations have'tremendous business potential' although'too many people are suffering from conflict on the continent

U.S. President Donald Trump (R) greets Namibia's President Dr. Hage Geingob before a luncheon with U.S. and African leaders at the Palace Hotel during the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in NY on September 20.

Trump, of course, was referring to Namibia, a country in southwest Africa that borders with Botswana.

Did he mean Zambia?

The White House released a transcript of the president's remarks September 20. "I congratulate you, they're spending a lot of money", Trump said.

In June, Mr Trump coined a nonsensical new word, "covfefe", in a freaky tweet that created a social media storm.

On the flip side, the gaffe has led to a slew of civics-type primers about Namibia.

He then went on to thank African leaders who were at the gathering, including leaders of Code d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea and Namibia.

"Africa has tremendous business potential".

Trump said he was eager to know more African leaders closely, saying, "I really want to congratulate you - growing very fast economically and in every other way".

"According to researchers, Nambia's [number one] export is Covfefe", tweeted out another social media user. "Nambia's health system is increasingly self-sufficient".

Unsurprisingly "Nambia" was trending on Twitter for the better part of the day.

It is a fact that the president of the United States Donald Trump is one of the most outspoken leaders of our generation.
