Injury boost: Arsenal defender fit to take on Watford

12 October, 2017, 12:51 | Author: Heidi Alvarez
  • Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi

Eighth-placed Watford have just one win against Arsenal in eight Premier League meetings but will look to build on their decent start.

The German suffered a hamstring injury in his country's victory over Azerbaijan and will now be sidelined for around four to six weeks.

And the former Bournemouth and Bolton loanee is hopeful that run can start when the Premier League resumes this weekend, with north Londoners travelling to Watford, having returned to the best physical shape of his career.

Koscielny, on the other hand, skipped the recent worldwide break to recover from an Achilles injury that has been a long-standing issue for the France defender. But he trained on his own and the first signs are positive. For Arsenal, they face a tricky trip to Watford to face a deceptively unsafe side who are well-drilled, industrious, and fit under the tutelage of Marco Silva.

The measure will be presented October 22-23 during a summit of ASEAN countries about marine debris to be held in Phuket province. Thailand is initially implementing the ban on 20 beaches but said that if successful the measure could be uniformly adopted.

He added: 'The player I expected to lose the least during the break was Mustafi. We will check him today.

"I didn't expect him to play and Germany had already qualified so their matches would have been less intense".

But Watford are yet to win any of their four home games in any competition this season, while Arsenal - 7/10 (1.70) to win the match outright - have won four on the spin ahead of their Saturday teatime trip to Vicarage Road, where they won 3-1 last season.

"The minor problem we have is with Sead Kolasinac".

Alexis Sanchez will not report back from global duty with Chile until Friday, but Wenger has no concerns over the forward or Aaron Ramsey's mental state after their World Cup exits.
