  • LeBron James uncertain for Cavs opener against Celtics after aggravating ankle injury

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James' sprained ankle could keep him out of the regular-season opener on October 17 against the Boston Celtics. While confirming that veteran sharpshooter J.R Smith will return to the starting line up to take James' place, Lue said the Cavs will be extra careful in handling injuries. "But it's pretty sore today so we'll just see what happens", Lue said in reference to the possibility of James' playing in their 2017-2018 National Basketball Association season.

After being sidelined for much of training camp with a sprained left ankle, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James made his preseason debut Tuesday night against the Chicago Bulls. Though Cavs coach Tyronn Lue has yet to provide an official update on James' injury, several media outlets believe the team might rest its franchise star.

Lue also noted James received treatment all day Wednesday, "so I'm not sure if we should be concerned (about his availability against the Celtics) or not". James played a team-high 30 minutes in the 108-94 defeat, accounting for 17 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the field, five rebounds three assists and eight turnovers. So, obviously tonight and tomorrow morning it's going to be a telltale sign of how I came out tonight. "It's just one game, but I think he'll be OK".

The 32-year-old reiterated that he wasn't fully himself when asked about the condition of the injury.

James said following Cleveland's 108-94 loss to Chicago at Quicken Loans Arena, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin: "Well, me personally, tonight I was off".

Dead man's unsent text with emoji a legitimate will, Australian court rules
The unsent text message was never sent but had important information that convinced the court that the man was using it as a will. Justice Susan Brown said the informal nature of the draft message did not stop it from revealing what the man wanted.

But the importance of that game, at least for the players who know they'll be on the final roster, pales in comparison to the regular-season opener against the Boston Celtics on October 17. "I told you no".

James did not speak to reporters following Wednesday's practice. "It wasn't the most positive conversation, but we talked about it and we'll get through it together".

"We're going to work on it", he added. We scrimmaged a lot today, and we put it in early. We have to keep working at it.

James, who has never missed a season opener in his 14-season National Basketball Association career, sat out almost two weeks for training camp after spraining his left ankle during the second day of practice.

CLEVELAND (AP) - LeBron James won't play again this preseason, and there's a chance he'll miss Cleveland's hyped opener with Boston.
