State AGs ready to sue Trump over health care subsidies

Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers-not to mention millions of Americans-rely on these subsidies, and now, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is suing the Trump administration in an effort to block the White House from spiking them.
The government payments to insurers for these vital subsidies, which are used to offset medical costs by lower and middle income families, were seen by the Trump administration and many Republicans as unlawful. "Congress needs to repeal and replace the disastrous Obamacare law and provide real relief to the American people".
Schneiderman's office addressed the move in a statement yesterday.
I will not allow President Trump to once again use NY families as political pawns in his unsafe, partisan campaign to eviscerate the Affordable Care Act at any cost. "We have taken aggressive actions to ensure that whatever happens in Washington, essential health benefits will continue to be the rule in NY, not the exception, and we will continue to fight for quality and affordable health care for all New Yorkers".

The other two, Patrick Forde, 20, and Sean Paul Gott, 21, are not enrolled at the school, but have ties to the fraternity. The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office ruled his cause of death as "acute ethanol intoxication with aspiration".
Schneiderman accused Trump of making his decision to cut the ACA subsidies based on politics and his animus toward former President Barack Obama, for whom the federal law is called Obamacare, rather than on an understanding of the impact of those cuts. "Our coalition of states stands ready to sue if President Trump cuts them off", Schneiderman added.

U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith, R-San Antonio, applauded Trump "for taking action to improve access, increase choices and lower costs for Americans' health care".
