IGN acquires pay-what-you-want game and book retailer Humble Bundle

In an interview with Gamasutra earlier today, IGN Vice President Mitch Galbraith stated, "If it's not broken, don't fix it", and that they want to give Humble Bundle "the resources they need to keep doing what they're doing".
"We chose IGN because they really understand our vision, share our passion for games, and believe in our mission to promote awesome digital content while helping charity", Humble Bundle co-founder Jeffrey Rosen said in the announcement. Humble branched into other services including a digital storefront, a monthly subscriptions service for games, and most recently as publisher for games like A Hat in Time.

"If it's not broken, don't fix it", said Galbraith, who explained that IGN started looking to make a deal like this almost a year ago. "We don't want to disrupt anything we're doing right already", added Humble Cofounder John Graham. Since launch, the site has raised more than $100 million for various charitable organizations, including the Red Cross and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
