  • Boeing seal $1.3 billion deal with Ethiopian Airlines

Private equity firm Indigo Partners, which has set up ultra-low cost airlines around the world, made the massive order Wednesday at the Dubai Air Show for Airbus' single-aisle A320neo family airliners.

The Indigo deal would more than double Airbus's existing order book for the year, which stood at about 290 aircraft as of October 31.

The airline had announced orders for 288 planes as of the end of October. To put it in perspective, a single airline with 430 planes would rank among the 10 largest carriers on the planet.

The deal represents the largest single order for Airbus planes by volume and comprises 273 A320neos and 157 A321neos, worth a combined $49.5 billion at list prices.

Under the deal on Wednesday, Airbus will sell its bestselling upgraded single-aisle jets to Indigo Partners' low-priced carriers that include Wizz Air (Hungary), Frontier Airlines (United States), JetSMART (Chile) and Volaris (Mexico), to boost their fleets.

Oilers acquire Cammalleri from Kings
He went on to play for the Montreal Canadiens the following season before returning to the Flames for a second stint in 2012. To obtain Cammalleri, the Oilers gave up forward Jussi Jokinen , whom they signed as a free agent just this summer.

It will also allow Airbus to overtake Boeing, with a total of 718 orders against its American rival's 605.

The order by Indigo Partners trumps the 2015 order for 250 single-aisle planes valued at $27 billion by Indian budget carrier IndiGo.

Plane make Airbus has agreed a deal with United States low-priced airline Indigo Partners for 430 jets. Franke, 80, signed the preliminary order at the Dubai Airshow.

Leahy, a smooth-talking New Yorker, became a famous thorn in the side of Boeing and other Airbus rivals during his more than 20 years in the job.
