Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) on Tuesday launched an updated version of its popular Scorpio.

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the Scoprio facelift at an introductory price of Rs. 9.97 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country.

The New Scorpio will be available in multiple seating options of 7, 8 & 9.

Also the old mHawk engine running the higher variants of the 2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift has been tweaked to deliver 140 bhp max power, instead of 120 bhp, and 320 Nm, in a first for one of the most popular SUV line-ups in India. The new Mahindra Scorpio will be available in Pearl White (only on S11), Diamond White (except S11), Napoli Black, D Sat Silver, and Molten Red colour options.

As for cosmetic changes, the new Mahindra Scorpio has new front grille with chrome inserts, muscular alloy wheels, ORVMs with integrated side turn indicators, clear lens turn indicators and bold chrome highlights in the headlamps, skid plate, refurbished upper and lower grille mesh design, new air extractors. At the rear, the updated Scorpio gets a new bumper, a new red theme for the LED tail-lamps, a new wiper, and a redesigned tailgate. In addition, there is a roof mounted sunglass holder and mobile holder spot.

In terms of features, the new 2018 Mahindra Scorpio gets a reverse parking camera, more storage space inside the cabin, a delayed power window operation function even after the engine is shut, auto-roll up function for the driver side window and more. The S5 and S7 variants are offered with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine producing 120 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 280 Nm @ 1,800-2,800 rpm.

All powerful Scorpio came up with auto temperature control and more secure 9.1 new generation bosch ABS system.

The S7 and the top of the line variant the S11 will get the revised, more powerful version of the mHawk that now produces 140PS and 320Nm of torque. Only the S7 and S11 get the new six-speed gearbox, which uses a new self-adjusting clutch that Mahindra claims will call for lower, consistent effort even towards the end of its lifecycle. The Tata Safari Storme remains its arch-rival as before, along with other compact SUVs such as the Renault Duster, Captur and the Hyundai Creta.
