  • Mido suggests Mohamed Salah better than Raheem Sterling

Salah has been in sensational form since signing from Roma in the summer for a club record £36.7million and leads the way in terms of Liverpool's top goalscorers this season, having doubled second-placed Roberto Firmino's seven strikes.

Mohamed Salah is ahead of Aguero and Kane in the race for Golden Boot with 9 goals.

Remarkably, it was just a few months ago and some people were questioning the fee Liverpool made a decision to pay for the winger.

The Reds were apparently eyeing Salah during his time at Basel, but he signed for Chelsea, which proved to be an ill-fated spell.

LIVERPOOL star Mohamed Salah has been tipped to join Real Madrid "soon" by Egypt legend and former Tottenham ace Mido.

In-form Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah will soon play for Real Madrid, according to former Egypt worldwide striker Mido. In fact, they failed to secure a deal with three players this summer before they negotiated a deal with Roma for their player.

However, as per the reliable Paul Joyce from The Times, Liverpool looked at three other wingers before they turned to the former Basel man. Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic and Julian Brandt, both heavily touted as making the switch to Anfield, along with Julian Draxler of PSG, were higher up on Jurgen Klopp's shortlist.

"Liverpool have got Firmino, but if Salah is getting the goals it doesn't matter where he's playing".

They will certainly be glad that they didn't sign any of the trio now.
