Asus has launched a new smartphone under its Zenfone-series, called the Zenfone Max Plus (M1). The company just revealed the press renders and specifications of the smartphone, ignoring the price and availability details.

Joining the bandwagon of 18:9 display trend, the Taiwanese multinational tech conglomerate has launched its Zenfone Max Plus (M1) smartphone.

The smartphone features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD screen with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels.

The Zenfone Max Plus (M1) caters to the mid-range market and will be a successor to the current Zenfone Max models. Also, it comes in two variations: 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a MediaTek 6750T chipset which comes with eight Cortex-A53 cores. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

The developers confirmed the game will receive monthly updates with new content in the form of new mysteries to investigate. The game's website now has a countdown running that points to a release on February 6, 2018, but nothing is official yet.

Like its Zenfone 4 Max siblings, this one features a dual camera on the back – 16MP + 8MP (the second cam has a wide-angle lens). On the software front, the device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat-based ZenUI 4.0 on top.

On the optics front, the Zenfone Max Plus (M1) sports a dual rear camera setup with a primary sensor of 16-megapixel and a secondary sensor of 8-megapixel. Thanks to the 18:9 display, Asus has added a fingerprint sensor at the back within reach of the index finger.

The phone boasts a 4,130mAh battery, enough for 13 hours of video playback. There is also an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Asus did not mention the fast charging technology used on the smartphone. This ain't no 720p screen on the Pegasus 4S like we saw in China.

The device will be first made available in Russian Federation, and it will be available in other countries very soon.
