The blasts took place during a murder trial in Nikipol

Ukrainian news reports say the father of a murder victim detonated two grenades in the courtroom where his son's alleged killers were being tried, killing himself and one of the defendants.

Dnipropetrovsk regional police released a statement revealing that three defendants were among those who were injured by the blasts.

At least nine people were wounded in the incident, including two convoy officers, a court officer, a prosecutor and civilians.

"According to preliminary reports, a man pulled out two hand grenades and detonated them at 11:20 (09:20 GMT) during a murder case hearing", the newspaper quoted police spokesperson Yaroslav Trakalo as saying.
