Jeffrey Tambor Didn't Leave 'Transparent' After All

Early last month, actor Jeffrey Tambor, the star of Arrested Development and Amazon's Transparent, was accused of repeatedly engaging in inappropriate behavior with his former assistant Van Barnes, as well as Transparent co-star Trace Lysette - both of whom happen to be trans women.

In November, actress Trace Lysette accused Tambor of sexual harassment, noting that he once "got physical" off camera while they filmed a scene together.

Previously, Tambor had said, "Given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set, I don't see how I can return to Transparent". Yet a representative for the actor disclosed to The Times recently that, in fact, Mr. Tambor had no plans to quit.

Publicist Allan Mayer offered a more extensive explanation in the wake of more accusations from makeu partist Tamara Delbridge.

On Wednesday, a rep for Jeffrey Tambor revealed that the actor may not be leaving Transparent after all.

Amazon is now investigating the allegations made against Tambor by his former assistant Van Barnes and by actress Trace Lysette.

As Amazon investigates the complaints, the series is suspended in an agonizing limbo.

Researchers say it has taken more than 20 years to excavate, clean, reconstruct and analyse the remains. Two days later, they did just that.

In the aftermath of the new claims, Tambor said, "This is no longer the job I signed up for four years ago".

Jeffrey Tambor's fate on Transparent is still up in the air. At the time the allegations were made, Tambor vehemently denied them, referring to them as "baseless".

"We have our own complications on Transparent", she said.

"I felt his penis on my hip through his thin pajamas and I pushed him off of me", she said. In the statement, he also said he was "deeply sorry if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being sexually aggressive, but the idea that I would deliberately harass anyone is simply and utterly untrue".

The probe comes on the heels of the resignation of Roy Price (pictured, left, with Tambor in June 2017), the head of Amazon Studios, in October over claims of sexual harassment.

IndieWire has reached out for an official comment from Amazon.
