Fergie Says She Couldn't Stop Hallucinating On Crystal Meth

But now, she's revealing more details then ever about her "lowest point", when she was a member of the pop trio Wild Orchid in the early 2000s and using so often she was hallucinating daily.

"I was [suffering from] chemically-induced psychosis and dementia".

And when she ran outside, she saw firsthand how drastically the drugs had affected her, seeing no SWAT, CIA or Federal Bureau of Investigation teams in the church parking lot.

"They tried to kick me out because I was moving down the aisles in this insane way, as I thought there was an infra-red camera in the church trying to check for my body", the 42-year-old remembered.

But the episode in the church marked a turning point for the 42-year-old star, who has been drug-free for more than 14 years.

Speaking to Extra she said: "It feels great!"

Fergie has opened up about her pre-fame drug addiction in the past, telling the Times of London in 2009 that her work as a child actor (she appeared on Disney's Kids Incorporated for 6 years) is partly to blame for her former habits.

Fergie-who just released Double Dutchess, her first solo album in 11 years-kicked her habit almost two decades ago, telling iNews that her hallucinations were ultimately what prompted her to get clean in the first place. "And if it really is the drugs, I don't want to live my life like this anymore, anyway'". The "M.I.L.F.$" singer has been candid about her substance abuse in the past, but as she revealed to iNews, it got a lot scarier than many people realize.

While it was a terrifying thing to go through, the M.I.L.F singer the called the church incident "a freeing moment" and got sober. They are parents to 4-year-old son Axl.Fergie's first solo album in 11 years, "Double Dutchess", was released in September.

"I thank the day it happened to me", she admitted. In 2006, she referred to her addiction as "the hardest boyfriend" she had to part ways with. "Because it is my strength, my faith, my hope for the best", - said fergie.

She told Extra: "You never know what the universe is going to throw at you".
