  • Probe clears Intelligence chair Nunes

Devin Nunes of allegations that he disclosed classified information related to the House investigation of Russian meddling in last year's election.

"The committee does not determine whether information is or is not classified", the panel's chair, Republican Rep. Susan Brooks of IN, and ranking Democrat, Rep. Ted Deutch of Florida, said IN a statement. Nunes had stepped aside from the Russian Federation probe pending the ethics investigation and amid criticism that he was too close to the White House.

Nunes had denied coordinating his disclosure of the information with the Trump administration. Mike Conaway of Texas, Trey Gowdy of SC and Tom Rooney of Florida.

The decision will allow Nunes to retake his seat at the forefront the House Intelligence Committee's investigation, often seen as the best counterbalance to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's own Russian Federation investigation, which has come under increasing fire over its possible politicization.

Nunes has remained chairman of the intelligence panel.

A little snow still possible
He says high temperatures will only be in the mid 40s, but it will feel like the 30s with the wind chill. Colder air will continue to spill into Georgia from the north Friday thanks to another cold front.

Nunes said in a statement Thursday night he was angry the review sidelined him for eight months and said it was prompted by partisan criticism. Nunes also wants the investigating panel to release transcripts of the interviews it conducted with him, AP reported. Based on their findings, the committee ruled that Nunes did not break any classification rules and closed the matter.

Nunes said in March that members of President Donald Trump's transition team had their communications legally monitored by the nation's intelligence community.

Nunes did not say in Thursday's statement if he would retake control of the House Russia investigation. The announcement of Nunes' innocence comes as the house panel met with dozens of witnesses, and conducted a series of interviews as they push for the probe's conclusion. Both this House and the American people would undoubtedly benefit from such an act of transparency and accountability to bolster confidence that partisanship does not infect the Ethics Committee's investigations.

Just days after the meeting, Goldstone apparently forwarded a message to Kaveladze referencing a report about Russia's breach of the Democratic National Committee.

It is unclear what is meant by the email, which was read to The Associated Press. It's completely out of the blue.
