Chelsea blame "tiredness" for West Ham loss; title hopes over?

Conte conceded that Chelsea are now out of the title race following their defeat to the Hammers.

"But then you lose against Crystal Palace at the bottom and now to lose again against West Ham who at this moment are in a bad position in the table, you can't lose points in these games".

The Blues went into the game eleven points behind Manchester City and hoped to make up the difference against West Ham, a team that had lost four of their last five games in the league. "To face one game every two games always with the same players is very hard", Conte said.

If you want to stay in the race for the title in the first part of the season you can only lose once or twice.

"To talk about the title race after a defeat I think is a bit unusual, especially as this is the fourth defeat this season in 16 games. We have to reflect and try and freshen up".

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte may be having a negative effect on his players due to his constant grumblings about their congested fixture list and the squad's exhausted legs, according to Phil Neville.

Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion
Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony was delighted with his victor against West Brom. This was Alan Pardew's second game as West Brom boss since succeeding Tony Pulis.

The Italian hinted that he wants reinforcements in January.

'We were miles off it from the start of the game, ' he said.

Surely other Premier League managers must feel they have a better chance against the leagues big boys when they have an extra three or four days of preparation time before these fixtures, and thats before even factoring in the effect of long distance travelling in some cases.

When speaking to BBC's Match of the Day, Neville also ridiculed Antonio Conte after he's expressed the disappointment of the club's summer transfer dealings, as The Mail reports.

"Bakayoko was playing a good game but when you find 11 players behind the ball and you are losing 1-0, it is important to change something and find a different solution". I can give my opinion but the last decision is the club and it's right to do this'. "Bakayoko satisfied me with his performance".
