  • Spot-fixing case Nasir Jamshed banned for one year

The Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) anti-corruption unit on Monday banned Pakistan batsman Nasir Jamshed for one year for obstructing and not cooperating with investigators in connection with a probe into a spot-fixing case.

The 28-year-old cricketer was charged with violating two articles 2.4.6 and 2.4.7, of the PCB's anti-corruption code.

The tribunal has banned Jamshed over not informing the board regarding the spot-fixing which was taking place in the tournament.

Update: Anti Corruption Tribunal has imposed one year ban on cricketer Nasir Jamshed for Non-Co-operation with PCB ACU, more charges will be brought up in near future.

Jamshed was arrested and released on bail by British police in February and provisionally suspended from all forms of the game.

In February, Jamshed was arrested in the United Kingdom and later released on bail soon after the corruption scandal of the T20 tournament broke out.

The spot-fixing allegations relate to a match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in Dubai in this February during the second edition of the PSL.

Former Pakistan batsmen Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif had already been banned for their roles in the case.

Other players involved in the spot-fixing case were Shahzaib Hasan and Mohammad Sami.
