Delhi: NRI Google techie arrested for molesting United States woman

In yet another horrific incident of crime against women in the national capital, a 52-year-old United States national was allegedly molested by an NRI at a five-star hotel in the VIP zone Lutyens' Delhi. The accused met the complainant on January 8 and Kharbanda allegedly invited her to his room.

Another officer told the media, "The victim informed the police that she had locked herself in her room for the entire night out of fear and shock".

Anmol Singh Kharbanda, who claims to work for a US-based multinational corporation, was a guest at the hotel where he met the 52-year-old woman, the police said.

As per the statement of the woman, she started living in the hotel from January 6 onwards. She alleged that the man had mixed something in her drink which made her woozy, and he then tried to grab her. On the next day, the woman left for Jaipur after a fight with him. A case of molestation was registered, after which Kharbanda was arrested. Police have recorded the woman's statement before the magistrate. A spokesperson for Taj Diplomatic Enclave said they have been providing all support to police. She reported the incident and complained to the police on Thursday after returning to Delhi. "We have been made aware by the lady guest of this incident between her and another resident guest". Police have recovered CCTV footage from the hotel which shows the man entering the room with the woman. "Safety and security of our guests and associates is paramount", said the spokesperson of the Taj Diplomatic Enclave hotel.
