In a lengthy and heartbreaking post to Facebook over the weekend, actress Eliza Dushku has accused Hollywood stunt coordinator Joel Kramer of sexually abusing her on the set of the film True Lies, when she was aged 12 and he was 36.
Eliza Dushku has posted an emotional account claiming she was molested by a stuntman when she was 12 years old.
Cameron said during a panel at the Television Critics Association press tour later that day that he "hadn't given a lot of thought" to this particular situation, as he had just heard the news, but said Eliza was "very courageous for speaking up" with her accusations against Joel Kramer.
According to the Los Angeles Times, "True Lies" writer and director James Cameron said Dushku "is very fearless for speaking up, and I think all the women are that are speaking out and calling for a reckoning now". "No one seemed ready to confront this taboo subject then, nor was I".
"Had I known about it, there would have been no mercy", said Cameron, who was taking part in a Q&A session with TV critics Saturday to promote a new TV show. Now especially, I have daughters. "There'd really be no mercy now". Kramer categorically denied the accusations in a phone call to The Wrap on Saturday, describing them as "absolute lies" and saying he's "shocked" and "floored" by them. "At the time, Eliza was too scared to tell the whole story and in a way I think she protected me from knowing because she knew how frightened I was of the powerful men on the set".

I haven't given a lot of thought to this specific situation because I just heard about it. It's not true. I think she's making this up in her imagination. "We all looked out for her, that's surprising". "I just don't know what is going through her mind".
After that encounter, she wrote, Kramer "grew cold" and "everything felt different on the set". "She may have gotten bruised, I don't think she broke any ribs, I don't remember that at all", he said. "I've never gotten anybody hurt".
"I tried to keep Joel away from her (Eliza) as did others working on the set, but because of all the stunts she had to do, he was constantly involved with her and her body".
