Menendez decries 'racism' in Trump campaign ad after government shuts down

The 30-second video opens with footage of a recent courtroom outburst by Luis Bracamontes, a twice-deported undocumented immigrant accused of killing two Sacramento-area deputies in 2014.

The president has previously signaled he is open to a fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program after rescinding it a year ago, but attacked Democrats for refusing to get behind increased border security in exchange to secure votes for the spending bill.

An explosive new ad by the Trump campaign implying that Democrats would be "complicit" in any murder committed by undocumented immigrants "doesn't work", a leading Democratic senator said.

The Trump campaign released an ad Saturday announcing its intention to blame Democrats for murders committed by unauthorized immigrants.

The ad closes with a recorded endorsement by Trump.

On Friday, Senate Democrats opposed a short-term spending bill to fund the government and keep it from shutting down after Republicans refused to include a provision to protect thousands of immigrants brought here as children. "Democrats who stand in our way will be complicit in every murder committed by illegal immigrants", says the ad by Donald J. Trump for President.

N.Korean delegation arrives in S.Korea for Olympics preparations
The North Korean officials passed the customs, immigration, and quarantine (CIQ) at 0902 KST and entered the South at 0917 KST. The North criticised the USA and other nations for calling its nuclear programme "violations of resolutions".

U.S. plotting another Korean War: North Korea
In contrast, the recent attempts at dialogue and joint participation in the Olympics are clearly helpful", the expert said. In the event of a war, control of the South Korean military is legally transferred from South Korean to USA generals.

The campaign ad follows a long series of efforts by the Trump administration to portray immigrants as criminals, but experts have found that immigrants - including unauthorized ones - are less likely than native-born Americans to commit crimes.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) allowed people who illegally came to the United States as children with their parents to stay if they met certain criteria.

Democrats have attempted to compromise, and even conceded to Trump on the border wall.

But, Durbin added, "Two hours later, a call from the White House says, 'The deal is off. I put the wall on the table in exchange for strong DACA protections".

This is despite the fact that Trump also called for allowing the dreamers to remain in the USA even after he revoked President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program in September. "It's next to impossible".
