  • President Trump reportedly expected to declassify Democratic rebuttal of controversial GOP memo

A White House aide says he's confident the Democratic memo about the FBI's Russian Federation investigation will be released once it's "cleaned up" by Democrats.

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly has reportedly been pushing for redactions, saying that the Democratic memo is "not as clean" as the Republican counterpart.

.

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee are prepared to black out parts of their memo about the FBI's Russian Federation investigation to ensure there's no harmful spilling of secrets, then try again to get President Donald Trump to let it come out.

Grassley and Graham said they found evidence that either Steele lied to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, or classified documents supporting government surveillance of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page contained false statements.

Feinstein's statement Friday also said any changes that need to be made for the Schiff memo to be declassified should be made swiftly and the memo "should be released". "If they really wanted to get it out, they'd be down there all day yesterday redacting it, getting it back over to the White House so that the public can know what's in it".

Trump and his aides are in the process of discussing whether the Democratic rebuttal needs to be redacted over national security concerns, the source added.

Also, North Korea sent its own cheerleader squad and an art troupe who are scheduled to perform in the Pyeongchang Winter Games. Moon did not immediately accept the invitation but said he hopes the "right conditions" will be created so it can go ahead.

According to White House Counsel Don McGahn, the document was blocked after the Justice Department had identified portions of the 10-page memo written by Democratic members that "would create especially significant concerns for the national security and law enforcement interests" of the country. "And if we redacted it, then there would be an outcry that said the White House is trying to edit it".

Democrats said that memo "cherry-picked" details.

The memo's release would have capped off a week in which Republicans and Democrats on the committee have publicly fought, with the panel now erecting a wall to separate feuding Republican and Democratic staffers who had long sat side by side.

Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff has blasted the Republican memo as a deliberate effort at undermining special counsel Robert Mueller's probe.

.

"If Schiff (or anyone else) is going to claim that it is Grassley's intent to undermine the Mueller probe, they should back it up with actual evidence or retract it and apologize for questioning the motives of their colleagues without any basis whatsoever", Foy said.

"One week after he released the misleading and incomplete Nunes memo, President Trump tonight blocked the release of the Schiff memo that sought to fill in the holes".
