Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o will produce and star in a film adaptation of Trevor Noah's memoir Born a Crime. The book details Patricia's influence on her son's life and her deeply held religious beliefs.

Lupita Nyong'o is the next star to announce a subsequent film project.

Noah took to Instagram to say: "My mother is a powerful woman who could easily be one of the handsome soldiers in Wakanda".

Nyong'o won an Academy Award for "12 Years a Slave" and played Nakia in "Black Panther".

Noah is producing the movie through his Ark Angel Productions along with Norman Aladjem, Derek Van Pelt, Mainstay Entertainment and Nyong'o herself, as reported by Deadline.
