Nokia (well, it's HMD Global now) is about to launch a series of new devices, and none of them will be as spectacular as the Galaxy S9.

There are also a few renders of the Nokia 8 Pro that were leaked earlier this month. While the S9+ is expected to come with 6GB of RAM, a dual 12MP rear camera setup and 128GB of internal storage, the S9 is likely to have 4GB of RAM, a solitary dual-pixel 12MP rear camera and 64GB of internal storage.

HMD Global is running a Mobile World Congress 2018 (MWC) press conference at which we're expecting the launch of several new Nokia handsets - HMD is the company licensed to produce Nokia phones. The most interesting one concerns the Nokia 10 with a penta-camera configuration - it will supposedly be called the Nokia 8 Pro now.

5G to be in spotlight at MWC 2018

According to reports, the Nokia 8 Pro might just be being built to compete with the premium phones of the century as it is reportedly going to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845.

HMD is planning a busy 2018 with a flurry of smartphones being lined up for launch, starting with the upcoming MWC 2018 event. These will be Carl Zeiss lenses and will come with 2X optical zoom. This camera technology is said to be brought by the Carl Zeiss company, which has confirmed its continuing partnership with HMD Global a year ago. Aside from the Nokia 8 Pro, the company is set to unveil the mid-range and entry-level smartphones at the MWC 2018 next week, including the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 1 and Nokia 4. It is expected to come powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC and could be announced by the end of this year.

In terms of the specs, it's thought the Nokia 7 Plus will feature an 18:9 6in display - although what type of display tech and resolution is now unknown.
