On Feb. 17, the mother of the woman alerted the Hyogo Prefectural Police that her daughter could not be contacted.

Police believe the victim is a Japanese woman last caught on CCTV walking with the suspect, the BBC reported.

Security videos revealed the woman going into the apartment mansion reportedly along with an unknown man, yet, the woman ever left the apartment. However, the woman was never seen leaving the building, the Japan Times reported.
