A quadruple quashed but a tempting treble still awaits Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City team.

Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont has talked up his chances of a potential move to Arsenal after admitting he'd like to join the north Londoners, while David Ospina has suggested he could be heading for the exit door.

Arsenal, meanwhile, languishes in sixth in the Premier League but just advanced to the Europa League's round of 16, and beating Pep Guardiola's Man City could serve as a launchpad for a successful remainder of the season.

But this is all about 90 minutes (plus extra time and penalties) with Wenger not necessarily happy with people saying Guardiola has redefined the way the game is played. "When the players make you feel they are together and we helped them to be better players and you see they enjoy the football being played that way, that is the best that remains in our heads and hearts".

That move did not materialise, but, speaking ahead of the Carabao Cup final between Manchester City and Arsenal on Sunday, City boss Guardiola told Sky Sports: "I would have liked to have played for him". Wenger declared his team must have 'strong belief' if they are to overcome their opponents. "Before the celebration we have to play a game".

But despite City's dominance this season, Guardiola will be eager to get his hands on a trophy, even if it would have been fourth on the list of his priorities when the campaign began.

Analysts Anticipate Denbury Resources Inc

For Guardiola, the seeds of doubt will be sown if he loses out in another Cup match, a week after the unexpected loss to Wigan in the FA Cup.

Wenger believes his team's history counts for something heading into the decider against City at Wembley. If the keeper does not perform, I get them in and say, "Look, you can not play in the next game".

"I think they will be ready to play".

Post the interval, the scenario was pretty much the same for the first few moments, until Yaya Toure held on his own and ripped one into the top corner that spurred Pellegrini's side on. That's all and on Sunday we are going to try again. "But I think talking about the celebration before the game is stupid, it makes no sense". "We showed character coming back from 1-0 down to win the game". Why be anxious about win, win, win?

"It's just a game".

While being calm, Wenger knows his players have to raise their collective game. "It's always sad because we did absolutely everything to go through but Wigan did a good job and congratulations". Arsenal have not lost a cup game at Wembley since their League Cup nightmare against Birmingham City in 2011.
