WhatsApp has again changed its 'message deletion' feature

WhatsApp had recently rolled out a feature "Delete for Everyone" that allowed users to call back their sent messages but only under a restricted time limit of 512 seconds.
As of now, it is being tested on Android devices, but if the previous testing pattern is taken as any indication, iOS and Windows versions may also get the adaptive icon shape feature, but only after testing.
What happens at the moment with the messaging app is that if a "Delete for everyone" request feature was sent out, then WhatsApp would just match the request ID to the message ID and then delete if a match was found.
The Delete For Everyone option is now available to users for 1 hour, 8 minutes and 16 seconds after a message has been sent.
Since WhatsApp introduced the "Delete for Everyone" feature back in November 2017, the recipient can understand that a message has been deleted as there is a prompt in its place with the "This message has been deleted" tag. Those using modded or unauthorized versions of the app have tricked this notification system to delete old messages. Now, it seems that the popular messaging app is planning of rolling out another feature "Block Revoke Request".
According to WABetaInfo report, the feature works by sending a message to the recipient whenever the sender tries to delete a message for everyone. When the recipient received this particular message contained the revoke request, WhatsApp checked if the ID of the message was present in the database and directly deleted it.
With this new addition, WhatsApp is sticking to 24 hours as a reference time period in order to ensure that the recipient or recipients in case of group chat have ample time to receive the revoke request.
An hour means you now have far longer to delete messages sent by mistake, or can wipe out entire conversations from a friend's phone.
