Former WWE star CM Punk has confirmed that he will fight in the UFC for a second time in the summer.
After leaving the WWE in 2014 over numerous disagreements, Punk signed with the UFC in December 2014 to a multi-fight contract despite having no professional fighting background.
Punk was clapping back at trolls on Twitter when he broke the news. responding to someone who asked, "When are we gonna see you cry again in the octagon?" His first outing in the Octagon did not last very long as he was submitted in the first round by Mickey Gall. His cross-over to mixed-martial-arts helped the UFC build a bigger fan base.

Whether the UFC would grant Punk a second chance is something company president Dana White let float in the air for quite some time. Eventually he committed to giving the 39-year-old another opportunity, and when the organization announced UFC 225 would takes place in Punk's backyard of Chicago, it seemed like a natural fit for his return.
It's rumored Punk will be fighting a fighter named Mike Jackson who now has the same fight record as Punk with just one loss and zero wins.
Should Punk secure a win, talks about him fighting Floyd Mayweather Junior could gain momentum. That would certainly make a lot more sense for Mayweather as CM Punk is more or less on his level in terms of being an MMA fighter. The fight ended in the first round, with Punk forced to tap to a rear-naked choke.
