"We can't afford to have road contractors and their nexus with the state PWD [Public Works Department] minister determines how candidates are selected for the upcoming Assembly elections". The state is due to hold assembly elections in May.

As per media reports, when asked if his Twitter account was hacked, Moily said, "I don't say that but even then it's not proper". Shared from Harsha Moily's Twitter handle on Thursday night as well as Veerappa Moily's Twitter handle, the tweet read, "INC needs to solve money in politics".

Sources in the Congress said there was suspicion that Harsha had posted the tweet, in an effort to pressure the party to give him the ticket from his father's old assembly constituency, Karkala.

Also, many people in the political circles were surprised by the timing of the tweet. The former Karnataka Cheif Minister who took a potshot at Siddaramaiah's close aide H C Mahadevappa told OneIndia that party matters were not to be made public. "Moily has said this tweet is not his, but we have issued a show cause notice to Harsha, just to get clarity and to send out a strong message", he added.

Tillerson makes first foreign min. fired by tweet
Pompeo survived the political punches in his first Senate confirmation hearings and no doubt the hits will keep coming. Pompeo's nomination process breezes through this committee, then it would go to the Senate floor for a vote.

Reacting to the controversy, Mahadevappa had said he did not have any information about it. The tweet also tagged Rahul's official twitter account, all-India and Karnataka Congress official accounts. "I will delete the Tweet and get to the bottom of how it happened".

Since these developments are common knowledge, the tweet had been construed as a protest by Moily.

The Congress leader has, however, denied posting it, saying "I have not done it".

BJP member of parliament Rajeev Chandrasekhar has called out the Karnataka Congress leadership, accusing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of having a nexus with builders and contractors. "Congress veteran's view validates our point". Neither me nor my son would speak against the party in a public forum like Twitter.
