Rising Star Actor Lucas Hedges Signs on to 'Honey Boy'

Meanwhile, playing LaBeouf's younger self is Lady Bird and Three Billboards star Lucas Hedges.

LaBeouf co-wrote the script under the pseudonym Otis Lort. It's one of the strangest movies that's in development right now; a biopic about LaBeouf's life and his relationship with his father. It was described as "a child actor and his law-breaking, alcohol-abusing father attempt to mend their contentious relationship over the course of a decade". LaBeouf will portray his father in Honey Boy.

Israeli-American filmmaker Alma Har'el, the mind behind Bombay Beach, is attached to direct the film.
