  • Here's what happened when a Wheel of Fortune contestant said 'flamenco' wrong

A contestant on "Wheel of Fortune" missed out on an easy $7,100 Monday after botching his pronunciation of the word "Flamenco".

That was when host Pat Sajak said, "Sorry", and informed him that wasn't the answer.

Pat Sajak was frozen, and after a long pause he said Jonny was wrong, and passed to the next competitor. All he had to do was read the words: "Flamenco dance lessons".

The contestant, Jonny, had already completed the puzzle.

Another wrote: "Flamingo dance lessons?"

Sadly, after a few seconds, Jonny got the buzzer, which meant his answer was incorrect. Amusing enough, the prize for solving the puzzle was a trip to Spain.

But the bigger story was how he arrived at his win - an unconventional path, making various game mistakes along the way.

Fellow contestant Ashley pronounced flamenco appropriately and nabbed the cash - nonetheless the look on Jonny's face talked about all of it.

Earlier in the episode, Jonny also flubbed by asking for a C to solve the puzzle "Dog and Pony Show Me the Money" with only three letters missing.

Other popular game shows have seen similar errors recently.
