The lawsuits, filed on Monday in Austin, Texas, center around the conspiracy theories Jones has peddled about the school shooting, including that it was a hoax, HuffPost reports.

The two lawsuits - filed on behalf of Leonard Pozner, Veronique De La Rosa and Neil Heslin - arised out of accusations the lawsuits state were made by InfoWars in 2017.

Heslin and Pozner were two of the 20 children and six adults killed by Adam Lanza on December 14, 2012.

Jones has been a controversial figure and one of the leading voices in the Sandy Hook truther movement, a group that claims the December 14, 2012 shooting never occurred.

InfoWars host Alex Jones arrives at court in Texas. The families are seeking more than $1 million for defamation, relating to Jones' repeated claims on his widely popular radio show that the shooting was staged in order for left-wing politicians to push gun control laws.

However a week later within a Infowars online video, Owen Shroyer, that works for the website, argued that it turned out "not potential" the Mr. Heslin held his deceased child as the medical examiner claimed he showed photographs to the parents to identify their own children.

The release added that the Fortis Board will take a decision that is in the "best interests" of the company, employees and shareholders.

"They're recycling a green, green screen behind them", Jones said, according to the lawsuit.

Jones has been at the forefront of a small, but dedicated, Sandy Hook truther movement for several years.

"The statements were a continuation and elaboration of a years-long campaign to falsely attack the honesty of the Sandy Hook parents, casting them as participants in a ghastly conspiracy and cover-up", the parents' lawsuits said.

The parents chose to sue more than five years after the attacks because they had concluded Jones has no intention of leaving them alone, Bankston said.

Jones could not immediately reached for comment.
