  • Trump lawyer Michael Cohen expected at court hearing over searches

Cohen, Trump's fiercely loyal and pugnacious lawyer, is in court to ask a judge to limit the ability of federal prosecutors to review documents seized from him last week as part of a criminal investigation.

As she arrived at the courthouse dressed in a lavender suit, photographers knocked over barricades as they scrambled to get pictures.

As the hearing got under way, Cohen sat by his lawyers, looking tense and clasping his hands on a table before him.

The disclosure came as Cohen's attorneys tried to persuade a federal judge in NY to delay prosecutors from examining records and electronic devices seized in the raids on the grounds that many of them are protected by attorney-client privilege.

The hearing in a Manhattan courtroom also included the bombshell reveal that Cohen's mystery third client is none other that Sean Hannity, the Fox News host and Trump champion who has railed on-air against the FBI, and Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation.

In February 2018, Trump's lawyer Michael D Cohen paid Stormy £95k hush money.

U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood said in hearings Friday and again on Monday that if Cohen wanted the court to declare that the some of his files were protected because of attorney confidentiality rules, he would have to divulge the names of his clients.

Stormy, real name Stephanie Clifford, was paid $130,000 by Cohen 11 days before the 2016 presidential election - she says to keep quiet about the 2006 romp with Trump.

Foster will not participate in 49ers team activities
When the couple's home was searched, police found a Sig Sauer 516, an assault rifle, along with its large capacity magazine. In a statement Thursday after the charges were filed, the 49ers did not mention any intention to cut Foster.

Judge Kimba Wood spent more than 2-1/2 hours listening to arguments by Cohen's lawyers, prosecutors from the USA attorney's office in Manhattan and a lawyer representing Trump in the hearing.

In a filing earlier Monday, Cohen's lawyers said investigators "took everything" during raids last week on his residence and office.

Stephen Ryan, a lawyer for Cohen, drew gasps and laughter from the public gallery when he named Hannity as the client. Calls to a Fox News spokeswoman were not immediately returned.

"Michael never represented me in any matter", Hannity said, adding: "I never received an invoice from Michael". In a later post on Twitter, he said the advice "dealt nearly exclusively about real estate". "I have may lawyers and they are probably wondering when their offices and even homes, are going to be raided".

The letter demanded Trump and Cohen's lawyers be allowed to decide which items seized are protected by attorney-client privilege before criminal prosecutors see them.

Adult-film actress Stormy Daniels plans to attend Monday's hearing, her lawyer Michael Avenatti, said on Sunday.

Cohen did not respond to a request for comment.

Daniels, in contrast, stepped up to the bank of microphones set up on the sidewalk, telling reporters that Cohen had thought he was above the law. "That ends now. My attorney and I are committed to making sure everyone finds out the truth and the facts of what happened".
