At the Cannes Film Festival, Kathleen Kennedy told Premiere France (with a hat tip to ComicBook) that yes, Lucasfilm's thinking has expanded to include the possibility of a Lando Calrissian solo movie.

The publication later adjusted its article with the note: "Lucasfilm informs us that there would have been a misunderstanding between our journalist and Kathleen Kennedy".

Kennedy added, according to Première, that there are more stories to be told around Han Solo and Chewbacca, but that "Lando will be next".

Meanwhile, Ehrenreich has revealed that he is under contract for two more "Star Wars" films, meaning his Han Solo could very well appear in a future Lando standalone film.

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" features Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo and chronicles his life prior to the events featured in 1977's original "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope".

Solo: A Star Wars Story hasn't even hit theaters yet, and there's already talk of spinning off Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian character in his own movie.

Consumer will onshore customer service roles to answer 100% of BT customer calls in the UK & Ireland by the end of 2020. Across all three brands, BT Consumer is committing to provide the best and most personal support for customers.

The quote from Premiere reads as follows: "Nous adorerions raconter un jour une histoire consacrée à Lando Calrissian, mais ce n'est pas d'actualité". The publication quoted Kennedy stating that Lando's story would be the next one to be told in the franchise.

Depending on your (certain point of view) next could mean a great many things. Forget about Obi-Wan Kenobi, though - Lucasfilm wants Lando Calrissian to be the focus of the next one.

When that might happen, though, is unknown. A Lando film is but the next logical step.

To paraphrase Zoolander's Mugatu, "It's that damn Donald Glover!".

Nor did Première's report specify when a Lando movie might be released let alone begin production.
