The company said the first stops will be U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea.

It is now not clear when YouTube Music will launch in South Africa. As for its ad removal, YouTube premium removes all traces of them from any and all videos.

In a blog-post earlier today, YouTube described the new music service saying that it "combines music listening with the magic of YouTube: making the world of music easier to explore and more personalized than ever". "It's a little bit of an art and not a science, because you might be using YouTube to research something, and we really want to be playing things you want", he said.

YouTube Premium success, however, will depend on one factor that YouTube Red has so far failed to address: YouTube Originals. If you don't want ads, plus also want extra features, you've got YouTube Music Premium to subscribe to.

"They're incorporating all your viewing on YouTube to build your favourites", noted Lefsetz - those gasps of horror you can hear are parents everywhere thinking about all those nursery-rhymes their kids binged in the past while logged in to the parental account. YouTube has announced this evening YouTube Red is now becoming YouTube Premium-and it'll soon launch in Canada (!).

It sounds like, at least for these trade talks, you can take Navarro off that list of people on whom the president is leaning. Liu is now in Washington, D.C., for meetings and is expected to meet with White House officials Thursday and Friday.

After several months of delays, YouTube Music is relaunching its subscription service on Tuesday, which will be available as an ad-supported (i.e. free) model and as a Premium model for $9.99 per month, with various bundle options for other Google services. While it has no shortage of such shows, very few can be named, much less remembered, outside of the circles that follow YouTube celebrities around like royalty. And hopefully it won't be the last. However, the leak from Lefsetz doesn't mention Play Music anywhere, so we'll have to wait for the official announcement from Google on its future. Here are the details. The experience will include especially curated recommendations and playlists based on YouTube history as well as your current context (like location).

Rumors have circulated that Google Play Music - Google's original music offering and the mechanism for their 50,000 song music locker and music purchases - will be killed off by the end of this year in favor of the new service.

Visually, the new YouTube Music is mostly unchanged - down to the icon - from the previous incarnation of the service.

In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the upcoming changes to YouTube Music? YouTube Premium includes ad-free, background and offline across all of YouTube, as well as access to all YouTube Originals including Cobra Kai, Step Up: High Water and Youth & Consequences. But because it includes our brand new YouTube Music service, the price will be $11.99 for all new members.
