Injured Brazil forward Neymar "trains every day" and his progress is "better than expected", the national team's physical trainer says.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been out since late February after suffering a broken foot, and it was first feared he may not recover in time for this summer's tournament in Russian Federation. He returned to Brazil and underwent surgery in Belo Horizonte on March 3rd and had been recovering in Mangaratiba. It will be important (to see Neymar) when he plays 11 against 11 on a reduced pitch.

But he has been named in Brazil's World Cup squad for next month's tournament. "We will try to speed up his adaptation so he picks up his game pace".

Brazil doctor, Lasmar Rodrigo said Neymar is on the right track to be in his peak condition as he steps up the intensity of his training.

Lasmar said Costa picked up the injury during Juventus' 2-1 win against Verona last weekend.
