Harvey Weinstein pled not guilty to rape and sexual assault in a Manhattan court Tuesday morning.
Harvey Weinstein appeared in a NY court yesterday to enter his plea after he was charged and arrested last week.
"It's long overdue for him to face this", said Gloria Allred, an attorney who represents women accusing men of sexual harassment, told reporters outside the court.
Benjamin Brafman, one of America's most celebrated criminal defense attorneys, did most of the talking for the mogul at his hearing.
The two women are among scores who have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct ranging from rape to harassment.
The producer, who has denied all allegations of nonconsensual sex and plead not guilty this morning in a New York City courtroom, purchased the nearly 5.75-acre oceanfront estate in two transactions, the first in 1994 and the second in 2000, for a total of just under $8.25 million. On Tuesday, Brafman also said he would file a motion to have the cases against Weinstein severed, meaning the mogul would face separate trials on the charges brought by each woman.
