The annual G7 summit brings together the leaders of the USA, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, Canada and the European Union - but this year it's being dominated by one man: Donald Trump.
President Trump flew to Canada Friday for the G-7 meeting - the first of two high-profile summits on his agenda.

Russian Federation rejoining Canada, the United States, Japan, Britain, Italy, France and Germany in the group of rich nations wasn't even on the agenda as European members of the G7 agreed that conditions were not ripe for Russian Federation to be readmitted so long as the Ukraine crisis was not resolved.
"It won't even be hard and in the end, we'll all get along".
Trump showed no sign of backing down on Friday after earlier accusing both France and Canada of imposing massive tariffs on USA goods, and then accusing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of "being so indignant". The official said disagreements remain, particularly with the US on a number of issues, but the goal remains to reach agreement on all the big issues. Asked by reporters whether he would relent on tariffs, Trump looked at Merkel and said: "I don't know". For example, they told Trump that millions of European citizens own Apple iPhones.

The US president has frosty relations with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the summit host. In a statement at the time the countries, which include the U.S., France, Canada, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan, condemned Russia's actions as "illegal" and in "contravention of global law".
Officials from the European Union also attend the meetings.
The globalised economy they helped build had both winners and losers but, until Trump's election, the United States was seen as the system's uncontested leader and a major beneficiary. Trump's policies have been more protectionist and confrontational, driven by a perception that the USA has been the victim of poorly conceived trade deals.
At issue now is whether the seven nations can conclude their meeting with a joint statement of priorities.
"Looking forward to straightening out unfair Trade Deals with the G-7 countries". A statement from the G7 finance ministers specifically called out the U.S. for its policies. On Twitter, he said: "The American President may not mind being isolated, but neither do we mind signing a 6 country agreement if need be". "And I would recommend - it's up to them". Let them meet; let them discuss.
While the G7 chiefs have largely praised Trump for his efforts to stabilize the Korean peninsula, they are unhappy he pulled out of an agreement created to limit Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Trump has invoked a U.S. national security provision to unilaterally impose tariffs on imports of foreign steel and aluminum, to the outrage of his allies, who have retaliated with a threat of their own, more targeted, sanctions.
