  • U.S. President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during a working session at the G-7 summit in Quebec Canada

Donald Trump's chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow has accused the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of "stabbing the U.S. in the back" with his comments at the G7 summit.

Trudeau "really kinda stabbed us in the back", top U.S. economic advisor Larry Kudlow said on CNN's "State of the Union".

Trump said in another tweet that Trudeau was "meek and mild" during their private meeting, only to hold a news conference calling the USA tariffs "insulting". "That's what weak, dishonest Justin Trudeau did".

Earlier in the day, before Mr Trump left the summit, he brought up the dramatic prospect of completely eliminating tariffs on goods and services, even as he threatened to end all trade with the US' partners if they did not stop what he said were unfair trade practices.

Kudlow added that Trump was "not going to let a Canadian prime minister push him around" ahead of the North Korea summit.

In a mocking tone, Kudlow rattled off the reasons Trudeau offered for his barbed critique of Trump's policies.

"Tariffs are going to come way down because we people can not continue to do that".

Canadian officials, including Mr Trudeau, have fanned across America as part of a months-long charm offensive to appeal to pro-trade Republicans at every level.

Trump took the second such comment, made in a news conference after the Quebec meeting, badly. He reiterated his longstanding view that the USA has been taken advantage of in global trade, adding, "We're like the piggy bank that everybody's robbing, and that ends". After Trump was blasted by Macron and other leaders, Trump took to Twitter again, this time to double down and declare, "Fair Trade is now to be called Fool Trade". But even those vested in Canadian trade are not expected to come to his defence as long as the U.S. economy is roaring.

Sunday a Democratic Representative from IL surprisingly sided with President Donald Trump in the White House's ongoing war of words over tariffs with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Roberts Jr.'s 2012 ruling upholding the constitutionality of the individual mandate as a valid use of Congress's taxing power. Attorney General Jeff Sessions wrote in a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) explaining his decision.

In a tweet posted Saturday evening, Trump said his decision was based on "false statements" made by Trudeau during a press conference he gave, as well as "the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs" on us companies.

Soon after Trump's tweets, his national security adviser John Bolton tweeted a now-viral photo of the President sitting down and crossing his arms with the other leaders standing around him.

"To be honest with you, Prime Minister Trudeau, I respect".

"He held a press conference and he said the USA is insulting".

"There's a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad-faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door", Navarro told Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday".

Germany's Angela Merkel later described Mr Trump's decision to reject the joint communique initially agreed between the G7 leaders as "sobering" and "depressing".

Trump's top economic advisor Larry Kudlow went after Trudeau Sunday.

This followed two days of feuding with some of his closest allies - one French official told reporters of a "very unusual" and "bitter" exchange Friday between world leaders, describing the United States president making his case in a "Rant".
