  • Trump credits Warmbier for NK summit: 'Otto did not die in vain'

By then, he had spend 17 months a North Korean prison. But while iving in an area where so many residents also speak their language can make easing into American society less daunting, they can also face discrimination - from other Koreans.

Trump made the comments about Warmbier after being pressed to expand on his comment that Kim, who leads a country known for many of its human rights abuses, was a "very talented" leader. It was brutal. A lot of people started to focus on what was going on, including North Korea'.

Trump also recognized on Tuesday during a press conference that he could potentially be wrong about trusting Kim. Trump said the negotiations he has initiated should help improve conditions in the isolated country, which successive US administrations have targeted for gross human rights violations.

He served 527 days of a 15-year sentence of hard labor, during which USA officials staged a surprise trip to Pyongyang last September and demanded that Pyongyang send him home on "humanitarian grounds". He died days later.

But others point out that there would be little good to come from the US president publicly bashing Kim while attempting diplomacy, and suggest that this is Trump's way of buttering up the brutal dictator.

He was the first leader to get the USA president to meet with him and he can bring back this great victory to his country and focus on what he says his priority now, which is the shift from the nuclear weapons development to improving the North Korean economy.

Warmbier's parents have sued North Korea, alleging that the nation's government brutally tortured and murdered their son.

"When the South-North relations improve, we will push first for the recovery of remains in the Demilitarized Zone", the 154-mile-long, 2.5-mile-wide area separating the two Koreas, Moon said. 'People say why are you doing this? How can anybody be quiet when this is going on?' It embarrasses them. They don't like the world to think that they aren't trying to be a member of the world, and they like to act like a victim, like they've been treated poorly, ' she said.
