  • He's going to have it tough Mike Coulter is back as Marvel superhero Luke Cage as Netflix drops an action-packed trailer from the highly anticipated second season on Tuesday

If nothing else, this fiery final trailer is further proof that the Bushmaster won't be the only villain for Luke Cage to contend with, as Marvel's Hero for Hire gears up for a gruelling sophomore adventure.

Luke Cage's sophomore run of 13 episodes (releasing Friday, June 22) finds Alfre Woodard's Mariah Dillard trying to pick up her political career and make something of the family she hates so much, following her brutal takeover of Harlem's Paradise.

The trailer starts with Mariah staring out over the city before walking down a corridor with portraits of women on the walls as she intones, 'Black women have always had superpowers.

Season 2 finds Mariah faced with an imminent and formidable threat to her hold over Harlem - the unstoppable Bushmaster, who endangers everything she holds most dear. Of course these individuals shows have their own showrunners and writers who work for months to craft their stories, so one imagines they're not super eager to simply piggyback off of what another show is doing.

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. The series also stars Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Gabrielle Dennis, and Rosario Dawson.

Press play above and then weigh in on how Luke Cage might possibly best Bushmaster.
