  • Anthony Martial wants to leave Manchester United this summer

Anthony Martial's agent has confirmed his client's desire to leave Manchester United this summer.

France global Anthony Martial has fallen somewhat out of favour at the Premier League giants, having started less than half of the team's league games in the past two seasons.

"Manchester United want to extend Anthony's contract and do not want him to leave but we haven't found an agreement despite several months of negotiations".

Martial moved to Manchester from Monaco for £36m in September 2015, but has been in and out of the side ever since.

Martial's agent told RMC Sport "After looking at all the possibilities and different factors, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United".

Lamboley went on to explain that contract negotiations had been going on for eight months but no agreement could be reached, which the agent deduced that if they could "not find an agreement in eight months of negotiations, it is that it does not really want to make [Martial] an important player in its workforce".

His woes at Manchester United cost him a place in the World Cup squad for France this summer, who are heading to Russian Federation looking to take back football's most coveted trophy. It is a well-considered decision.

"I can't say anything at the moment, but clearly, from the moment a player like Anthony is on the market, many clubs are interested".

"We do not have the same vision of Anthony's future".

"He is disappointed because he has shown love for the club and supporters over the last three years".

"I think he has done his best for three years". I can tell you that without the unconditional support of the fans, Anthony would have already asked to leave United. It is important to remember that this season he scored 11 goals and gave 10 assists in five months.

Later the same month, Mourinho pointedly avoided answering a direct question about Martial's and Marcus Rashford's playing time, per Mike Whalley of the Telegraph. Right now I don't think that's the most important question. "Anthony simply wants to play, rediscover the pleasure of football and the rapport with the coach will be crucial".

Reports emerged of one incident after the Red Devils lost in February where The Special One called out the starlet in front of the team.
