Roseanne Barr is still trying to plead her case almost a month after her show's cancellation.

Roseanne Barr began sobbing as she explained how the scandal has affected her family.

"What I thought I was doing was when ABC hired me. they said I have to get off Twitter", said Barr.

Barr spoke through tears for much of the interview.

"It was an insensitive thing for me, but it's the reason, and I'm just gonna' own my reason".

In the interview, Barr claimed she "never would have wittingly called any black person, a monkey". "I never would do that, and I didn't do that".

'I have black children in my family.

"I didn't mean what they think I meant, and that's what's so painful". I've made a huge error and I told ABC when they called me'. I did not do that, although they think I did. I told ABC. I said I will do that but I have to tell you right now before we sign these papers that I will never stop defending Israel and the Jewish people.

Barr revealed once again that the upsetting tweet was posted in the early hour of 2 a.m. while she was on Ambien, admitting that while it's "no excuse", she was indeed "impaired".

"I horribly regret it", she continued. "I lost everything." The comedian later added that she doesn't "agree with [Jarrett's] policies", and added that "I thought she was white". "I didn't know she was black and I cop to it". Barr said that if the Muslim Brotherhood had a baby with Planet of the Apes, it would be Ms Jarrett. "If you want to hire me, know that".

The star, who insisted she thought Jarrett was white, also said that she had tried to obtain the businesswoman's phone number to call her personally to apologize.

The host then asked Barr if she still regrets her actions, to which she didn't hesitate. "So it's remorse, and I definitely feel remorse". I've lost everything, and I regretted it before I lost everything, and I said to God, I am willing to accept whatever consequences this brings, because I know I'd done wrong.

ABC swiftly announced the cancellation of the top-rated show, and has recently announced a spin-off, with working title The Connors, which will star most of the cast, although not Barr. But they don't ever stop. "People make that mistake about me all the time".

Barr said on the podcast that she understands a lot about racism from personal experience. And as a Jew, it's just awful.

Meanwhile, ABC - the network which broadcast Roseanne - announced on Thursday it will air a 10-episode Conner family sitcom this autumn in the USA, without Barr in it. I didn't do that, although they think I did.

"So, I'm asking, in that tweet, people see in that a complete contravention of that values system", he said, as the topic of the tweet arose.
