A frozen sample of the extremely contagious bacterial disease was dropped in a bridge between the cancer research buildings at Johns Hopkins Hospital on Thursday afternoon, local station WBAL reported.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Willis said while this was a one-time event, a review of procedures will take place.

A Johns Hopkins spokesman said the building has been cleared of any contamination and they have confirmed that they was no risk to anyone inside the building. The hospital staffs said that a tiny quantity of the germ accidentally released into its facilities during transportation.

"We have determined there is no risk involved".

But his reign lasted a mere 67 days, Allardyce standing down after a single match in charge following a newspaper sting. Michael Owen, who scored twice at the 1998 World Cup at the age of 18, remains the youngest ever.

Spokespeople for Johns Hopkins Hospital and the fire department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

"If I were around a patient with tuberculosis in the hospital breathing the same air I would need to be exposed for several hours for example to have any risk", Dr. King described.

He added that the people who were on or near the site of exposure do not need additional testing. The bacteria usually attack the lungs, but it can attack other organs, like the kidneys or the brain, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The AIDS-causing HIV virus weakens the immune system that it is unable to fight the tuberculosis bacteria, according to Mayo Clinic. It has always been on the decline in the U.S. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says there were 9,272 U.S. cases in 2016.

Tuberculosis is brought around by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria and has reportedly infected around ten million people and has killed around 1.7 million globally in the year 2016 alone. Treatment with antibiotics for four to nine months is required to treat the active disease. However, in the United States, the disease is gradually becoming rare.
