Hurricane Beryl had been downgraded to a tropical storm by Sunday and was still on track toward Puerto Rico, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and other Caribbean islands.

Chris, now churning offshore, is expected remain just off the coast of North Carolina for a few days before turning north and east and heading away from the US coastline by Wednesday.

Chris had top winds of 60 miles per hour (95 kph) at 5 a.m. Monday, and was expected to remain almost stationary through Tuesday before moving northeastward as a hurricane.

However, the storm's path is expected to stay away from the New England shore.

The National Hurricane Center will still be watching this area of showers and thunderstorms as there is a 30% it could redevelop into a tropical system once it moves over the warmer waters near the Bahamas and the upper level wind shear relaxes later this week. It wasn't projected to directly threaten land over the next few days, though forecasters said it could kick up risky surf and rip tides.

England make it to first semi-final in 28 years
We were faced with a really good opponent and we didn't reach peak performance. "The margins are quite small in the game". The 31-year-old, who has won 75 caps, was left out of Southgate's squad as the boss shunned veterans in favour of youth.

Although Chris is likely to remain offshore of the U.S. East Coast, it will still bring impacts for beachgoers.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles from the center. Beryl has weakened to a remnant low, but it will still bring gusty winds and heavy rain bands Lesser Antilles.

Those living near Puerto Rico's south coast were wary of the rain forecast, since they were the first ones hit by Maria and saw some of the biggest damage. It is now a minimal tropical storm, with peak winds of 40 miles per hour. The storm could make landfall as a tropical storm early Friday in far northeastern Canada. A tropical watch remained in effect for Dominica Sunday evening, according to the NHC.

A tropical storm warning is up on Guadeloupe and Dominica, while a tropical storm watch has been issued for the French Caribbean territories of Martinique, St. Martin and St. Barts as well as St. Maarten, Barbados, St. Lucia, Saba and St. Eustatius.
