Defending champion Roger Federer eased into the Wimbledon fourth round on Friday with a 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 win over Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff.

Federer has won 32 consecutive sets at Wimbledon to move within one straight-sets victory of breaking his previous longest streak at the All England Club, 34 in a row from the third round in 2005 to the final in 2006. After finally holding serve, Mannarino relaxed and Federer lifted his foot from his opponent's throat.

Later Monday, two-time champion Rafael Nadal attempts to make the quarter-finals for the first time since he finished runner-up in 2011. She is seeded 25th after missing last year's tournament while pregnant.

During Roger Federer's Round of 16 match on Monday against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the Swiss maestro showed off his cricketing skills in front of the All England Club at the prestigious Centre Court.

Federer had to deal with his first break point of the tournament in the next game but passed the test with an ace as he wrapped up the first set having lost just five points.

Halep claimed the first set comfortably after surging 4-2 in front to claim the first set but Hsieh, who is ranked 47 places below the Romanian, stormed back to steal the second.

Hartley takes on new power unit elements for British GP
The primary talking point of the session came just 14 minutes in when Hartley went off heavily into the barriers at Brooklands. The front wheel of his Toro Rosso auto skewed vertically and Hartley lost control of the vehicle .

The blow appeared to suck the life out of Mannarino and he was broken in the next game before Federer served out for the match.

He was in cruise control from there and raced to the first set before two more breaks in the second solidified Nadal's domination.

The outsider, who beat Daniil Medvedev in five sets to reach the last-16, faltered at the worst possible moment, however, and gave Federer two break points at 5-5.

What they would probably have preferred is to play on a Center Court with a retractable grass surface - one that can open up and swallow them whole and spare them from receiving any further punishment from the most elegant executioner in tennis. But I really didn't come here to hold No. 1.

Even if Federer is tested by the players in his half of the draw, it won't compare to what Nadal has to go through as major champions Juan Martin Del Potro and Novak Djokovic are still alive.
