  • Microsoft Improves Windows Notepad

The Notepad app on Microsoft Windows has been the operating system's forgotten stepchild for years, a largely forgotten tool that stands quietly in the corner as its siblings see regular polishes and improvements.

While the spartan program has been the go-to for everyday users wanting to take down a quick note, it also often performs an important function for developers wanting to record logs or even code simpler programs. Along with various cumulative updates for Windows 10, older versions got patched as well. The "Find what:" field will also remember your last text entry the next time you open it, or automatically fill it with text you've highlighted when opening it.

Other than these, you will now have the ability to wrap around find and replace.

The full list of foods affected by the bacteria have now been revealed, and consumers should be trying their best to avoid them. The Woolworths product is sourced from Belgium and contains frozen sweetcorn sourced from the Greenyard Factory in Hungary.

Another feature to make Notepad more user-friendly is text zooming. This month's Patch Tuesday cycle brings cumulative updates for all supported versions of Windows, including for the Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803). Shortcuts for Ctrl + Plus, Ctrl + Minus, and Ctrl + MouseWheel will all work to change the zoom setting. These protections aren't enabled by default. Users are still free to disable the status bar if they choose to do so. There are few performance improvements for large files. Also, when saving files, the line and column numbers will remain as they are instead of being reset to one.

Lines that don't fit the entire screen are displayed correctly. This feature doesn't seem to support "convenience PINs", presumably because the company knows how easily PINs can be broken by modern password cracking tools.

It is practically an infinite Whiteboard where you can use pen, keyboard, mouse, and fingers to doodle, write, type, and what have you. (Web Sign-in only works on Azure Active Directory-joined PCs.) A new "Fast Sign-in" option is created to enable those with shared or guest Windows 10 PCs to sign in more quickly.
