Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Multiplayer and Blackout Betas Revealed

14 July, 2018, 07:02 | Author: Sammy Rose

The first one is known as the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Private Multiplayer Beta that, as the name suggests, will be used by developer Treyarch to gauge the game's multiplayer modes that are not Blackout - the game's battle royale mode. Well, we'll finally find out how many people can participate in Blackout, as Treyarch has announced when the betas will begin.

As for those playing Black Ops 4 on PC, they will have their own open beta take place beginning on August 11 and lasting until August 13. More importantly, a beta will ensure that it doesn't completely suck. Pre-ordering from a retailer should get you a code to redeem on the Call of Duty website while pre-ordering digitally should just grant you automatic access when the beta goes live.

As a private beta, it will only be accessible by those who have pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, with download codes being sent out for both digital and physical pre-orders.

As detailed by Activision, the Private Multiplayer Beta will offer six maps, two of which will be making their first appearance.

Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and the brand-new objective-based game mode Control are playable. PC players who pre-order can start playing the "early access" beta August 10th, starting at 10:00 PT.

Control: Teams alternate between attacking and defending two static objectives with limited lives.

According to the official announcement, the multiplayer beta starts first on PlayStation 4 on August 3 (with Xbox to follow one week later) and the Blackout beta starts first on PlayStation 4 in September. The Blackout Beta will then arrive on all formats sometime in September. More specific details will be shared as we get closer. Instead of a solitary beta event as is usually the case with Call of Duty games, there will be two betas.
