  • Serena into semis after fighting back to beat Giorgi

Partly due to Giorgi's aggressive style of play - which has in no small part got her to the last eight, she didn't regret taking that style of play to Williams, saying: "No, it's my game, that is why I'm playing well today, so no, I don't regret anything".

Men's fourth round: No. 1 Roger Federer beat No. 22 Adrian Mannarino 6-0, 7-5, 6-4; No. 2 Rafael Nadal beat Jiri Vesely 6-3, 6-3, 6-4; No. 8 Kevin Anderson beat Gael Monfils 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2), 5-7, 7-6 (4); No. 9 John Isner beat No. 31 Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 7-6 (8), 7-6 (4); No. 12 Novak Djokovic beat Karen Khachanov 6-4, 6-2, 6-2.

It was the first time she'd needed to erase a real deficit this fortnight: Williams hadn't dropped a set until facing Giorgi, who was in her first Grand Slam quarterfinal. Williams unleashed some savage forehands that rocked the Italian then secured her first break with a crosscourt victor. When she's calibrating properly, it all can be tough for opponents to handle.

A closer look at Serena Williams' shoes.

The man got his phone out ready to take a quick snap with the Wimbledon icon but couldn't quite get the ideal shot. For whatever reason, I was so calm.

"I faced a thousand and three seeds in my life, so I'm okay", she said.

"I don't feel like I have the right to win and I don't feel like I have the right to lose". It is what it is'. I never felt it was out of my hands. I can't describe it.

"This is only my fourth tournament back, so I don't feel pressure". She manages to hold on to her serve, but she can ill-afford such mistakes if wants to get back into the match. It appeared nearly to be a reminder to Giorgi, who said on Monday that she doesn't watch women's tennis. "I answered this question, like, 10 times", the 2016 U.S. Open runner-up said.

Sasnovich had knocked out pre-tournament title favourite and two-time champion Petra Kvitova in round one and Australian hope Daria Gavrilova in the last 32 to make the second week. Everything from that point on seemed to click for Williams.

Williams took the set in convincing fashion, 6-3, and yelled her trademark "Come on!" as she clinched the final point.

Trump later tweeted and also confirmed during a press conference in Brussels that 4% percent should indeed be the ultimate target. Trump did not specify which countries had committed to what, and it remained unclear whether any had changed their plans.

"She was moving me very much". So I think it's a great week.

"I thought I was maybe the better player in the first set but didn't actually take the chances I would have loved to take".

Kerber came out on top in a spectacular 25-shot rally to force match point number seven and finally got the job done as Kasatkina netted a forehand, the German a relieved 6-3 7-5 victor.

Prior to the championships Dominika Cibulkova was unhappy that the decision to seed Williams meant she was bumped out of the top 32. Serena loses when you are around.

Bertens, who was contemplating retirement a year ago after losing her enthusiasm for the sport, is the first Dutch woman to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals since Michaella Krajicek in 2007.

After their most recent meeting, in the French Open's third round last month, Williams pulled out of that tournament, citing a chest muscle injury that made it too painful to serve. "This is a whole new match, it's a new surface, it's everything". We're starting from zero.

If her best is anything like we saw Tuesday, it seems like it will be an incredibly hard task for Goerges to pull off the victory.

Williams is four matches away from winning her eighth title at Wimbledon.

"I still have a lot of matches to win".
