Second lunar eclipse of 2018 an unusual type

The last solar eclipse that fell on Friday the 13th was in December 1974.

Two days later, Mars will make its closest approach to Earth in about 15 years. The publication notes that a lunar eclipse always occurs about two weeks before or after a solar eclipse.

The total lunar eclipse is projected to be visible across various parts of South America, Asia, Africa, and Middle East regions.

NASA's space experts at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) predict small parts of the eclipse will be visible along the southern coastline of Australia and the southernmost tips of New Zealand. During the partial eclipse, the Earth will pass through the moon's penumbra, and a sliver of the sun will vanish into darkness.

Our world contrasts between the moon and sunlight each month, but a solar eclipse happens just when the three celestial bodies have been adapting so that Earth glides through part of this moon shadow. The last lunar eclipse occurred on January 31, an event that was dubbed a "super blue blood moon". However, the USA residents will be unable to view the lunar eclipse, but people populating most regions of Eastern Hemisphere will be able to witness it partially.

The army said it held Hamas responsible for all violence emanating from Gaza, which the terror group has ruled since 2007. Three Israelis were wounded when a rocket hit a house in the city of Sderot near the Gaza Strip, authorities said.

This week's eclipse will be a partial one - when the Moon slips past, only partially obscuring the Sun. Hence, during the eclipse, it was believed that people shouldn't cook or eat food, drink water or go outdoors. In amatter of fact one should also avoid cooking at this point of time.

Scientists have put forward myriad observations related to the total lunar eclipse.

July's lunar show pairs with a partial solar eclipse before, on Jul 13, then after, on Aug 11. From commencement to conclusion the entire event will last for almost 4 hours. Solar Eclipse 2018 which is due to be held on July 13 will be visible in Western Australia and other neighboring islands.

The solar eclipse of 2018 is an event to look out for only because it falls on Friday the 13th. "The total eclipse will last up to 2.43am (IST) on 28 July". The month will end with a full moon on July 27, and it is also called the Full Buck Moon because the male buck deer begin to grow their new antlers at this time of year.
