Unofficial photos were taken on the day of the ceremony and showed the Duke and Duchess together with all three of their children for the first time.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have opted for friends, rather than immediate family members, as is custom for royal children.

Kensington Palace released photographs from the 2-month-old royal's special day on Sunday, a week after Prince William and Kate Middleton's youngest son was christened at The Chapel Royal at Saint James's Palace in London, England, on July 9. Standing, left to right: Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex; Megan, the Duchess of Sussex; Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall; Prince Charles, Prince of Wales; Carole Middleton, Michael Middleton, Pippa Matthews, James Matthews and James Middleton.

Prince Louis may have been the star of the show, but it was his mother's family that took centre stage for this happy portrait after his christening. "I only hope I have captured some of that joy in my photographs", Holyoak told The Daily Mail.

The photographs were taken in the morning room and garden of Clarence House after Prince Louis' christening at St James's Palace last Monday by renowned British photographer Matt Holyoak.

Mr Holyoak has worked with a host of celebrities and his photos have regularly been splashed on the covers of magazines such as Harper's Bazaar, Shortlist and Dazed and Confused.

The Duchess of Cambridge sported her favourite designer Alexander McQueen at both occasions. The picture is a throwback to the christenings of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Then only eleven weeks old, Louis was dressed in a white lace, satin-lined christening gown.
