Even though many political observers have raised questions about Manigault Newman's credibility and motivations, she's been driving the media cycle for the last few days with her gossip-filled new book and her secretly-recorded conversations with Trump and people in his orbit.

Trump's White House has always amounted to an irregular workplace, sometimes proudly so.

In the early morning tweet, Trump called Newman a "crazed, crying lowlife" and said he had given her a break with a job in the White House but it "just didn't work out". The president tweeted praise for Chief of Staff John F. Kelly "for quickly firing that dog".

".@MarkBurnettTV called to say that there are NO TAPES of the Apprentice where I used such a bad and disgusting word as attributed by Wacky and Deranged Omarosa", Trump tweeted, tagging the former executive producer of the show.

But Omarosa told NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday morning that she'd since heard the recording herself.

A source told Hollywood Life that Melania uses fashion to voice her opinion and take subtle shots at Donald when they disagree on a matter. But his use of the phrase to characterize an African-American woman stands to complicate his denial of using racist language. The book called, "Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House", will be released Tuesday. She has also released several audio recordings of conversations she had with Trump and campaign aides.

CBS News omitted Patton's claim that subsequent investigation had suggested the supposed source of the "n-word" tape ever possessed the tape or played it for Omarosa. CBS said it had not confirmed the authenticity of the tape.

A former contestant on his TV show "The Apprentice", Manigault Newman joined the campaign and became an assistant to the president, earning $179,000 a year as director of communications for the White House office of public liaison.

"I am trying to find out at least what context it was used in to help us maybe try to figure out a way to spin it", Pierson can be heard saying in the recording of the 2016 conversation. "I told him to try working it out, if possible, because she only said GREAT things about me - until she got fired!"

Newman alleged the controversial billionaire asked if he could be sworn in as president using a copy of his book The Art Of The Deal instead of the Bible.

Pierson says, "He said".

But she did sign one as a Trump campaign official - and the Trump campaign has said it may sue, arguing she has breached a non-disparagement clause.

"I don't have that word in my vocabulary, and never have". Rep Frederica S Wilson, a Democrat from Florida, said during an interview on CNN. "He has taken this country to its knees".

She later became the president's senior adviser.

Senator Jeff Flake, a Republican from Arizona, called the language used by Trump "unbecoming of a President of the United States". Before becoming president, Trump himself had a reputation for quietly recording conversations during his business dealings in NY.

Back then, she wouldn't go as far as questioning Trump's character when it came to his attitude toward different races.

That revelation sparked a stream of presidential invective on Twitter.

"I saw him put a note in his mouth".

She says she declined that offer.

"I said, 'Well, sir, can you think of anytime where this happened?' And he said, 'no'".

However the damage, if any, may have already been done to the President, Prof O'Connor said.
