  • Brett Kavanaugh: 'This is a completely false allegation'

Donald Trump, Jr., son of President Donald Trump, posted an image to his Instagram account on Sunday appearing to mock the woman who accused Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

Asked about the allegations on Fox & Friends, Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president and one of the highest-ranking women in the White House, gave a barely comprehensible answer, trying to simultaneously argue she wants to hear Ford's story while casting doubt on it.

"Many of us are survivors ourselves". Therefore, if Conway is firmly on the side of Kavanaugh being trustworthy - a tough sell, given he has been repeatedly accused of perjuring himself in Senate hearings - it is hard to argue she's willing to really listen to Ford's side of the story.

The White House official says that the Trump administration will try its best to discredit the allegations, pointing out the fact that they were made so late in the confirmation process and so many years after the alleged crime occurred.

Ford has accused Kavanaugh, a conservative appeals court judge chosen by Trump for a lifetime job on the top USA court, of trying to attack her and remove her clothing while drunk in 1982 in a Maryland suburb outside Washington when they were students in different high schools. She also said she wants the FBI to investigate the matter before the Senate advances Kavanaugh's nomination. She took, and passed, a polygraph.

"I agree with Senator Flake that we should delay this week's vote", Feinstein said. "I did not do this back in high school or at any time", he said in a statement. "Because this never happened, I had no idea who was making the accusation until she identified herself yesterday".

Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, called the timing of the revelations "disturbing" in a statement, and a Republican source told CNN the committee's vote on Kavanaugh was still scheduled to take place Thursday afternoon.

Amazon reportedly probing employees leaking data for bribes
These practices may help sellers' products appear higher in search results, bettering their chances of attracting customers. Amazon reportedly launched an investigation into the practice, which is apparently prevalent in China, back in May.

On Sunday, Schumer called on the Senate Judiciary Committee to postpone a vote on Kavanaugh's nomination until the sexual misconduct accusation against him is investigated.

Grassley said the standard procedure would be to conduct follow-up telephone calls with Kavanaugh and Ford, and that he meant to work with the senior Democrat on the committee, Senator Dianne Feinstein, to schedule the calls but that Democrats have refused to cooperate. The American people had to wait for that information to be leaked to the media before Kavanaugh's accuser, Ford, came forward with her allegations for the first time in 36 years.

Backlash to Hill's treatment by then all-male Senate Judiciary Committee in 1991 is widely accepted to have helped usher in the so-called "Year of the Woman" in 1992, when the number of women in the Senate doubled from two to four. Senate Republicans hold a 51-49 majority and can not afford two or more Republicans voting against Kavanaugh's nomination unless they pick up votes from Democrats.

The comments by Ford's lawyer suggested any public hearing could be explosive.

Conway told reporters Monday accuser Christine Blasey Ford should "not be ignored or insulted".

The Judicial Crisis Network, a conservative group that backs Trump's judicial picks, plans to launch a $1.5 million ad campaign backing Kavanaugh, a spokeswoman said. Feinstein received a letter detailing Ford's claim in July, but the allegation contained therein was not widely known until last week.

Ford, a California-based professor, revealed her identity over the weekend in a Washington Post report, following a letter obtained by Sen.
